Horizon recruited and onboarded five RNs for patients in the ED, while a total of five NPs are now working in the ED. The health network also added nursing support to the Brunswick inpatient unit. Overall, 19 of 24 RN positions at the hospital are currently filled and Horizon’s talent acquisition teams are continuing to recruit to fill the rest. Sackville Memorial Hospital hasn't offered 24/7 ER services since June of 2021, because of staff shortage and there’s still the need for four ED physicians and two RNs in order to safely resume operations fully.
