Tess, a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence developed by U.S. startup X2 AI, was provided to 34 staff members of Saint Elizabeth Health Care who, in addition to their regular duties, provide care to members of their own families. The technology offers personalized mental healthcare through education, coping mechanisms and self-care support, enabling employees to manage stress, grief and anxiety. Saint Elizabeth says over 12,000 text messages were exchanged between staff and Tess over the 30-day trial, adding it plans to include access to the chatbot as a part of its Elizz caregivers in the workplace program.
