As part of the University of Saskatchewan’s Bachelor of Science in Dental Therapy program, the first of its kind in Canada, dental therapists are trained to perform restorative dental treatment such as fillings, extractions and other preventive services. The program hopes to benefit patients across Sask., including those in the North. The program will also recruit Indigenous students and use a laddering model to develop a career path for dental aides and dental assistants.
