The Scottish Government is expanding its Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) to allow eligible mothers in all parts of the country to benefit from the program by the end of 2018. The government will have up to 60 additional fully trained nurses to deliver the program, which provides young first time mothers with frequent one-to-one home visits from early pregnancy until their child's second birthday. The program, available to mothers aged 19 and under, is also being offered to eligible 20-24 year olds, with the aim of making it available to up to 8,000 mothers by 2018-19.
