To implement the plan, the government will set up a taskforce called the National Suicide Prevention Leadership Group. The 10 measures in the plan include rolling out refreshed mental health and suicide prevention training for Scotland’s public and private sectors. The plan requires all National Health Services staff to receive this training. All deaths by suicide will be reviewed to ensure that the learning is shared with partners and acted on. The plan also includes the development of innovative ways of using digital technology to assist with prevention. Public awareness campaigns will be run as well.
