A study from StatsCan suggests women (19%) suffer more workplace harassment than men (13%), partially because females make up a greater proportion of front-line workers who can be exposed to abuse from clients and customers. This is especially true in healthcare, where 27% of women and 21% of men reported harassment in the form of verbal abuse, humiliating behaviour, threats, physical violence and unwanted sexual attention or sexual harassment. Overall, the healthcare field was most exposed to harassment, with 23% of workers reporting at least one incident. Twelve percent of workers in the financial sector say they experienced workplace harassment.
