U.S. pharmacy giant Walgreens and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital are partnering for telemedicine services by opening a telemedicine kiosk in a convenience store in Manhattan, with plans to open more kiosks in 2018. The kiosks, located in private rooms in the stores, allow patients to access exams and diagnoses of non-threatening illnesses or injuries via clinicians at NYP OnDemand Urgent Care. Pediatric emergency physicians will also be available during limited hours. Patients can also access the telemedicine services from home via video chat on Walgreens' website. The virtual visits typically take between 10 and 20 minutes.
