Not-for-profit healthcare system Intermountain Healthcare plans to build a genetic repository - the GeneRosity Registry - that will be populated with unprocessed genetic data from companies such as 23andMe, AncestryDNA and MyHeritage uploaded voluntarily by consumers. Researchers from Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute are creating the DNA registry based on medical histories from people around the world, and are seeking existing genetic test results and electronic health histories to form the database. They aim to identify patterns of disorders among relatives to determine whether individuals, family members or future generations might be at an increased risk of developing a particular condition.
