Utah health system creates generic drug company to lower drug prices

Launched under the name Civica Rx by not-for-profit healthcare system Intermountain, the generic drug company aims to disrupt the industry by addressing shortages and high prices for medications. The company is organized as a not-for-profit corporation. Civica Rx has identified 14 hospital-administered generic drugs as the initial focus of the company's efforts and expects to have its first products on the market as early as 2019.
