BreatheSuite is based in St. John’s N.L. The company says there are three main parts to the program:

  1. An inhaler sensor, that fits on most metered dose inhalers, lets patients know how well they’re taking their medication;
  2. Respiratory health coaches address the patients’ barriers that prevent them from managing their asthma or COPD; and
  3. A mobile application allows users to receive feedback on their inhaler usage, learn from in-app education modules and track their symptoms to see change over time. This information is accessible by the users’ respiratory health coach, allowing them to intervene if the user is showing worsening signs.

BreatheSuite says some prominent Atlantic Canadian insurance plans will cover the program. Pricing is dependent on the user’s insurance coverage.
