Vitalité’s latest quarterly report shows it has a critical shortage of pathologists in several of its health zones. Of the seven vacancies, the Edmundston and Campbellton regions each have two, while the Bathurst region has three. Some of the positions have remained unfilled for more than two years. Vitalité accelerated the implementation of digital telepathology to address the critical shortage. The health network's recruiting pathologists and says the recruits will serve all four of its zones, regardless of where they're based. Horizon, meanwhile, has four unfilled positions but two are expected to be filled in the coming months.
