Source

New Brunswick Health Council, Hospital Acute Care Survey

Calculations

This indicator is based on respondents who said 'yes' to the question 'During this hospital stay, did you need medicine for pain?'. This indicator is calculated by dividing the total number of 'always' responses to the questions 'During this hospital stay, how often was your pain well controlled?' and 'During this hospital stay, how often did the hospital staff do everything they could to help you with your pain?', by the total number of responses given as 'always, usually, sometimes or never' for these 2 questions.
