Source

New Brunswick Health Council, Home Care Survey

Calculations

This indicator is based on respondents who have been diagnosed or treated for one (1) or more of the following chronic health conditions: arthritis, asthma, emphysema or COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), chronic pain, cancer, diabetes, depression, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure or hypertension, a mood disorder other than depression, such as bipolar disorder, mania, manic depression or dysthymia, gastric reflux (or GERD), alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia, anxiety or high cholesterol. This indicator is calculated by dividing the number of respondents who answered "very confident" by the number of respondents who answered "not at all confident, not very confident, confident or very confident" to the question: How confident are you that you can control and manage your health condition?
