About

This indicator is the percentage of citizens who used English during their last consultation with their primary care provider who prefer English.

Source

New Brunswick Health Council, Primary Health Survey and Primary Care Survey

Calculations

This indicator is based on respondents who have a family doctor or a nurse practitioner and who consulted with them in the last 12 months and whose last consultation was in English. This indicator is calculated by dividing the number of respondents who answered "yes, I prefer English" by the number of respondents who answered "yes, I prefer English, no, I prefer French, no, I prefer a language other than English or French or I don’t have a preference between English and French" to the question: Is English the language you prefer for consultations with your family doctor or your nurse practitioner?
