About

THIS INDICATOR HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED AND REPLACED WITH "SH_EHA04_1". This indicator is the percentage of students in grade 6 to 12 who report drinking one or more servings of a non-nutritious beverage the day before the survey, based on their responses to 5 individual questions in the survey.

Source

New Brunswick Health Council, Student Wellness and Education Survey - Grades 6-12

Calculations

This indicator adds the responses to the following 5 individual questions: 'Yesterday, how many servings of fruit-flavoured drinks did you drink? (e.g., one cup or drinking box-size serving of punch, Sunny D®, or lemonade, and Slushies®)', 'Yesterday, how many servings of regular (non-diet) pop or soft drinks did you drink? (e.g., one cup or can of pop)', 'Yesterday, how many servings of diet pop or soft drinks did you drink? (e.g., one cup or one can)', 'Yesterday, how many servings of sports drinks did you drink? (e.g., one cup or small bottle of Gatorade®)' and 'Yesterday, how many servings of high energy drinks did you drink? (e.g., one cup or can of Red Bull®)'. The response options for these 4 individual questions are: none, 1 serving, 2 servings, 3 servings, 4 servings, 5 servings and 6+ servings. This indicator is calculated by dividing the number of respondents who have a total combined response of '1 or more servings' by the number of respondents who answered at least 1 of the 5 individual questions.
