Calculations

This indicator is calculated by dividing the number of respondents who answered "1 time, 2 times or 3 or more times" by the number of respondents who answered "never, 1 time, 2 times or 3 or more times" . This indicator is based on respondents who answered at least 1 of the following 12 questions on drug use: Have you ever taken any of the following drugs in the last 12 months to get high? a) LSD and other hallucinogens (e.g., PCP, magic mushrooms, mescaline, peyote, Salvia), b) Pain Relievers (e.g., Fentanyl, Percodan, Percs, Demerol, Oxycontin, Oxycodone, Oxy, Oxyneo, OC, APO, Codeine, Morphine), c) Amphetamines (speed), d) Ecstasy, MDMA (E, Xtc, Adam, X), e) Cocaine (coke, crack, snow, rock), f) Cough and cold medicines, g) Stimulants (e.g., Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall), h) Sedatives / tranquillizers (e.g., Valium, Ativan, Xanax, GHB), i) Methamphetamines / Crystal methamphetamine (ice) and l) Other?

Users are advised to exercise caution if comparing data from the community of Grand Bay-Westfield, Westfield, Greenwich Area to other New Brunswick communities. The data for the community of Grand Bay-Westfield, Westfield, Greenwich Area is based on students in grades 6 to 8, while data from the other communities are based on students in grades 6 to 12. Survey results are assigned to communities based on the location of the school. The community of Grand Bay-Westfield, Westfield, Greenwich Area does not have any schools with grades 9 to 12.
