Calculations

This indicator is calculated by dividing the number of respondents who answered "none or 1 serving" by the number of respondents who answered "none, 1 serving, 2 servings, 3 servings, 4 servings, 5 servings, 6+ servings" to the question: Yesterday, how many times did you eat or drink: c) Highly processed foods (for example, chips, chocolate, candies, ice cream and frozen desserts, fast foods like French fries and burgers, frozen entrées like pasta dishes and pizzas, bakery products like muffins, buns and cakes, processed meats like sausages and deli meats)?

Notes

This indicator has replaced SH_EATNN_1 (non-nutritious foods), which was previously available on our Web site. Due to changes in our 2021-2022 edition of the questionnaire, this indicator cannot be compared to previous versions. Users are advised to exercise caution if comparing data from the community of Grand Bay-Westfield, Westfield, Greenwich Area to other New Brunswick communities. The data for the community of Grand Bay-Westfield, Westfield, Greenwich Area is based on students in grades 6 to 8, while data from the other communities are based on students in grades 6 to 12. Survey results are assigned to communities based on the location of the school. The community of Grand Bay-Westfield, Westfield, Greenwich Area does not have any schools with grades 9 to 12.
