Calculations

This indicator is calculated by dividing the number of respondents who answered "1 serving, 2 servings, 3 servings, 4 servings, 5 servings or 6+ servings" by the number of respondents who answered "none, 1 serving, 2 servings, 3 servings, 4 servings, 5 servings, 6+ servings" to the question: Yesterday, how many times did you eat or drink: d) Sugary drinks (for example, pop, juice, flavoured waters, sport and energy drinks, hot or cold tea and coffee drinks, flavoured milks [like chocolate milk])?

Notes

This indicator has replaced SH_DRINN_1 (non-nutritious beverage), which was previously available on our Web site. Due to changes in our 2021-2022 edition of the questionnaire, this indicator cannot be compared to previous versions. Users are advised to exercise caution if comparing data from the community of Grand Bay-Westfield, Westfield, Greenwich Area to other New Brunswick communities. The data for the community of Grand Bay-Westfield, Westfield, Greenwich Area is based on students in grades 6 to 8, while data from the other communities are based on students in grades 6 to 12. Survey results are assigned to communities based on the location of the school. The community of Grand Bay-Westfield, Westfield, Greenwich Area does not have any schools with grades 9 to 12.
