About

This indicator is the percentage of students in grades 6 to 12 who reported they needed to see or talk to someone about their mental or emotional problem but did not see someone.

Source

New Brunswick Health Council, Student Wellness and Education Survey, Grades 6-12

Calculations

This indicator is based on 2 individual questions in the survey that are asked in the following order: Question #1 is 'Did you need to see or talk to someone for a mental or emotional problem you were having in the last 12 months?' and Question #2 is 'If yes, did you see or talk to someone about your mental or emotional health?'. This indicator is calculated by dividing the number of respondents who answered 'yes' to Question #1 and 'no' to Question #2 by the number of respondents who answered both individual questions.
