The purpose of the New Brunswick Student Wellness Survey (NBSWS) is to examine students' perceptions, attitudes and behaviours in a number of key areas related to student well-being. It is a provincial initiative of the New Brunswick Department of Social Development - Wellness Branch in cooperation with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. Data collection and analysis is carried out by the NBHC.

The increasing prevalence of multiple chronic health conditions is a significant contributor to New Brunswick’s rising health system costs, and current resource allocations are unlikely to reduce the increase. This will require an emphasis on comprehensive community health services and targeted, sustainable multi-year funding growth.
