The New Brunswick Health Council Hospital Acute Care Survey is conducted every 3 years. Its purpose is to evaluate the quality of hospital care in New Brunswick from the perspective of citizens who have received these services.
The 2023 edition was conducted between June and November 2023, 4,719 citizens shared their experiences regarding their hospital stay in a New Brunswick hospital.
The results were released on October 29th, 2024.
Key Observations from the 2023 edition
- Six key factors, or drivers, largely influence overall patient experience during hospital stays in New Brunswick.
- Efforts are required on all six factors to improve overall patient experience. Moreover, some factors specific to patient-centred care require particular attention.
- When it comes to the 6 Key factors that influence patient experience, zone 4 seems to be showing better results than the provincial average and zone 5 worse.
- In general, the overall experience of patients varies by type of care received: surgical, maternity, or medical care.
