2024-2025 Student Wellness and Education Survey

The New Brunswick Student Wellness and Education Survey is conducted in all public schools across the province. It aims to evaluate several aspects of students’ wellness, including their social and emotional development, physical health, substance use, and experiences at school and in the community.

The 2024-2025 edition was conducted in November 2025. Over 68,000 participants, including parents/guardians of students in grades K-5 (6,635), students in grades 4-5 (14,964), and students in grades 6-12 (46,438), contributed to the 2024-2025 edition of the survey.

The results were released on September 23rd, 2025.

Key observations from the 2024-2025 edition

  • Not enough New Brunswick youth in grades 6 to 12 are meeting the Canadian guidelines for physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and sleep.
  • 21% of New Brunswick youth in grades 6 to 12 report using one or more substances.
  • Youth behaviours vary across NB communities.
